Haydan's first swim ~~~

Haydan had his first swim on 23 Oct 2011! It was an interesting activity by the confinement centre for babies to  "exercise" their tiny muscles. His facial expression looks "frozen" like trying to figure out what was going on and trying to "swim" which was quite funny. Some people say babies are natural swimmers as they were already swimming in the amniotic fluid while in the womb.. amazing! \^0^/ Click here to see Haydan's swimming video!

Day of Joy \^0^/

Baby's first smile! ♥
I received the best news of the day at 8.40 am when the clinic called to inform that Haydan’s jaundice level has dropped to 8.7 and can be discharged! I can finally see my baby after so many days of worrying and anticipating. This is the perfect picture of the day! And oh, Happy 1 week, my darling.. ^0^ ♥

Son ~ 6th October 2011

I

6th October 2011 I was overjoyed when the nurse called to say that I can see my baby 2 days ago. I haven’t seen him since that only time in the operating theatre. The first time I carried him in my arms was the warmest hug I ever got. I carefully observed his every facial detail.. the fine hair on his head, his closed eyes and sweet pinkish lips. I was so happy to see the cute little dimples. The nurse called to inform the result of your blood test and it turns out, you have my blood, son. We are both O+ blood type, the benevolent kind where you can donate to most people. ;p

The Big Day! 4th October 2011 (Tuesday)

This is the day that I’ve been waiting for the past 9 months! And I'm officially a MUM today! The day has been specially selected for the best date and hour for the birth of my precious baby. I contained the excitement throughout the night and woke up early at 7 am in the morning as breakfast need to be eaten before 8 am. I have to keep an empty stomach for at least 8 hours before the scheduled surgery. I arrived at the clinic on the dot at 9 am and waited for the nurse to advise further procedures. I have to go through enema (灌腸) and put on a drip (點滴). At 2.30 pm sharp, I was pushed into the operating theatre for preparations. The anaesthetic shot was almost unbearable but soon, numbness came. Dr Ruan came in at 3 pm and seeing him eased most of my fears. “You will hear your baby’s first cry in 5 min,” he said and I waited eagerly. At 3.10 pm sharp, your beautiful cry filled the entire room and you were born! They brought a tiny and reddish you to me and no words can describe how I feel the very second I set my eyes on you. I know I love you even before I first saw you. And this feeling was affirmed when I tear upon seeing you at the very first moment. Welcome to this very beautiful world, my darling… ♥

Worried ~ 8th October 2011

Today, the nurse informed that Haydan have mild jaundice (slightly over level 12) and I was worried and disappointed. I was so looking forward to discharging with my baby the next day to the confinement centre. Doc advised that it is known as “physiological jaundice” and usually causes no problems. But still I cant keep myself from not worrying about it. ;(
